Thoughts on skinny jeans? I like them but my friend says it’s not trendy

I usually wear baggy/straight/wide jeans and not really skinnies. I have black skinnies that I wear with a blazer to work but not skinny blue jeans for casual wear. Not too sure if they aren’t on trend or like my friend said just for millennials lol
