How do I get to these areas?

There’s no chasms that I’ve found to drop in and maybe I’m just missing something… aren’t these little pockets surrounded by mountains in depths? I’ve tried taking balloons up but can’t figure out how to get in here. Help!

So i've started the game, saw the blonde princess time travel, met up with the nice glasses lady and learned of the ancient evil lurking underground, I also found the friendly robot in the factory. But I cant figure out how to solve this sky island. Any ideas?
