Cookie question!

What about it?

I made these brown butter chocolate chip cookies. I’m using van houten couverture milk chocolate. The cookies are about 50 grams and baked for 10mins at 180c (356F) I stick a couple of big chocolate chunks on the top, but they always get slightly charred. My question is, is there any way to keep the chocolate on the top from burning?

The top layer of the cake broke a tiny bit so naturally the decor was all concentrated in that area haha
