I'm getting these black flakes when I run my hot water. Hot water tank (Bradford White) is 2 years old. Copper pipes, unknown age. Any idea what causes these on only hot water? I only have one tub, but flakes also in aerator in bathroom sink's faucet.

I had new toilets installed last year, I took the lid off of one yesterday to tighten the handle and noticed this in my tank. What is it? I don’t believe my kids have left me an upper decker.
