Too close for comfort

I am at around 550 elo. And I win most of the matches by resignation. It feels bad not doing a mate. Why does everyone keep resigning? (it's after taking their queen most if the times)

Why does chess.com consider this a mistake and not a blunder? (I played h5 there and won)

We've all been there. But castling because you can't think of another move is not necessarily the best way forwards.
