What about it?

S1:E3: Homer's Odyssey This episode has gotten mixed reviews from critics and I can understand why as the ending fizzles out at the end and the voice acting and animation leave a lot to the imagination to fill in. However, this episode has always been one of my favorites and the above moment helps. It has Homer about to commit suicide from getting fired (if this happened today then current Homer would be labeled overdramatic), but once he sees his family in danger, he immediately changes course and saves them. The reason I enjoy this scene is that we see Homer at his weakest when it's not played off for laughs and yet he still retains enough semblance of life to save them from getting killed. This episode speaks perfectly to me as I've had very fucking shitty moments in life but I would never fail to help or save someone while putting my own needs first. I would help someone out unconditionally and put my mental stuff aside. That's why I enjoy this episode purely for this scene alone.
