How to get fur out of a mesh harness

Dog sitting for a friend and wanted to clean the harness for them. I threw it in the wash, first on delicate, which didn't work, so then on a normal cycle. Still full of fur. Any way to get rid of it?

matted/stained carpet

this is SO embarrassing but can anyone help me? i don’t have the money to replace this carpet right now is there anything i can do save it. any and all tips appreciated
