The Asian vine snake can be found in the tree canopies of forests and gardens in South Asia, where it delicately slithers from branch to branch. When threatened, it faces its attacker with its arrow-like snout, inflates its neck, coils its body into an S-shape, and sticks out its tongue.
Hyenas are famous for their laughter-esque howls, but that is only a small part of their very diverse vocabulary. They make a wide array of sounds, including low whoops to call packmates. A 2022 study discovered that these whoops are actually unique to every individual; no two hyena sounds alike.
