Help😠Failed puff pastry
What about it?
This is my 4th time making pastelitos.. I made them perfectly on the first try, now I can't them right 😠Literally everything went good this time. While I was rolling it out I could see the butter in the dough so it was definitely cold enough. I'm thinking, maybe I didn't roll it out thin enough? Or my oven wasn't hot enough? I baked these at 400 for 17 minutes. I don't know if thats melted butter on the parchment paper or the egg wash. The outside is flaky, when I peel the top and sides, they're flaky. But when I bite into it, it's soggy and thick. Please help!
Fellow bakers... how often do you find yourself in this situation?

I hope this doesn't break any community rules, I made this comic for my Significant Other's birthday today. He went to culinary school and really does bake the best cookies I've ever had! It's hard not to keep bringing up the idea of baking even more sweet treats.
