Bumps appear days after neutering?

What about it?

Posting this on my mom's behalf. Her 5y/o pitbull is having cold symptoms and small bumps appeared on his lower back days after he was neutered. She will be calling the vet on Monday. In the mean time, any idea what this might be?

Ear infection

What about it?

Hello all, I recently a took in a dog who’s previous owner went into a nursing home. It seems to me that she has an ear infection because she is rubbing her head on the ground and I’ll include a photo of what the ear looks like. She had a vet appointment scheduled this upcoming Wednesday but I was wondering if there was anything I could do right now to help her because I imagine it doesn’t feel good. Also, she desperately needs a grooming and has one scheduled tomorrow. Should I still take her to get groomed tomorrow or what to see the vet? I tried asking the vet but could only speak with the receptionist and she was unable to answer the question.

I was walking by my dog in the neighborhood and was attacked my another pittie. Will this heal on its own or does this need a vet?

My dog has been missing for over three months. I think someone might have found her and is keeping her. What can I do?

What about it?

She’s a shiba inu, a breed that’s not common where I live, and she’s pretty and cute and attracts a lot of attention whenever we take her out. She went missing after slipping her harness in early April. She was best friends with my other dog, a pittie, and he’s been depressed ever since. I really miss her and her bad attitude and how she would demand butt scratches and how she would arrooooo when she was happy to see us come home after a long day. I really just want her back. I’ve checked shelters twice a week every week since she went missing, I’ve put up bunches of posters, I’ve shared posts online and on Facebook, I’ve called local animal clinics to ask them to keep an eye out, etc etc. But there hasn’t been any news about her in over a month. I’ve been having a nervous breakdown trying to think of things I could do to find her and get her back. I’ve put up $250 rewards, but so far no one has come forward. I think someone must have found her and thought she was abandoned or something and decided to keep her. She’s been missing for a while, so god knows how she must have looked, but she is loved and missed and I want her back so badly it hurts. I have no idea where to start with finding out where she might be, or even what I should be doing at this point. Does anyone have any advice?? Please help I just want my little menace back home

2yo Great Dane sucking on couch cushions…

What about it?

Back story: husband and I got a Great Dane puppy 2 years ago, and he had been passed around from family to family in a very short time before we adopted him. A month-ish after getting him we moved into a new home that we were in the process of buying. All has been wonderful except he started to suck/suckle on blankets and pillows. We got a crate for the blankets and no longer have decorative pillows. In the last month or so he has turned to our couch…he will suck on the corners of the cushions and it’s super slimy and gross… Typically I leave for work first, and husband leaves about an hour later. However, I am a teacher on summer break (hence the last month or so) and he tends to do it when husband leaves first now and I sleep in a little later. I do want to include that he is not alone during this time. We have a 3yo GSD/Husky as well. From what I have read and researched, I presume the behavior is associated with anxiety and/or him being taken from his mom too soon when he was born. I have also read that we are not to scold him for this action, the items he’s choosing to suck on are closely related to husband and I, and he is essentially comforting himself if we aren’t around. He ruined our last couch, and we have only had this one for about 6/7 months. My hope is that I can divert his behavior into a more appropriate item: toy, his own blankie, a stuffy, anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Advice or tips on teaching a settle on an evening when visiting friends

What about it?

This noodle right here, is 1 and half, and I love her and have loved her since I got her at 11 weeks old. But we have a wee bit of a problem. When we visit friends who have a dog, she will play fine, but won't settle down when it's time to settle down, she understands this at home, and will settle of an evening. However at our friends nope, she just wants to play with her male dog friend non stop, and he is a bit older and would like to happily chill after his playtime. I have to put her back on her lead to make her settle but this isn't going to solve it or teach her, so I'm looking on advice or tips that I can use to work on this with her, for her benefit and mine. If she learns to settle she can visit them more. Also looking for advice on how to stop her jumping up to greet her favourite people. I have a policy of we ignore her, which works, she will stand and then gets attention but 10 minutes later, her brain goes weeeeee kangaroo time. She is clever, but stubborn, and very food motivated. And she is a good girl she just gets over excited. She is greyhoundxwhipoetxsaluki with a bit of collie in her cross. She is walked daily and we vary where we walk for different smells and to work that beautiful brain of hers. So any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Fired for Getting Sick

What about it?

My former job sent me this message the other day for getting sick early in my employment. The only time I knew of them closing early is when they sent me home for literally vomiting at work. I had been to the emergency room multiple times in 2 weeks due to chronic health conditions which they refused to take doctor’s notes from. Literally told me even if I have doctor’s notes I’m unexcused. I asked for sick leave (which got denied) and this was sent to me within 30 minutes of that denial. Plus if me getting sick left them in that much peril why were they only scheduling one employee at a time in the first place?
