How would you repair this?
What about it?
I am helping a friend repair this weather beaten outdoor chair, one of the arms has split from moisture, how would you suggest giving it some extra life? Should I fill it with wood putty, glue, epoxy? Not desperate in making this brand new, just make it usable again.
Advice for removing dark water stain off an oak table
What about it?
Can you recommend the best way of returning the dark park of the wood to its original oak colour? Some sources online recommend hydrogen peroxide but am not sure if this level of damage requires more specialist treatment.
The table was left outside for about 6 weeks and the damage is predominantly from rainfall. There was no protective finish on the table too prior to the damage from what I can tell.
Any advice really appreciated!
Help on wax-finished acacia
What about it?
Hi all - big non-professional here (please don’t yell at me)
I bought a beautiful 8 ft unfinished acacia butcher block and a friend helped me seal it with wax. I chose the wax route rather than others because I wanted to keep the wood as cool-toned as I could.
Per his recommendation, I’ve been waxing the table about once biweekly or so which I’m guessing is too often due to the wax build up. Any thoughts here on how to remedy the problem? I don’t want to strip and re-finish if I can avoid that as I’m not the best at DIY and fear I’d ruin it further.
Thank you for any help and I hope I don’t offend anyone with how this beautiful piece of wood ended up.
What tree does this Dragon Wood come from?
What about it?
I saw these "Dragon Wood" butcherblock slabs in a Eastern US store, but when I tried to find out its source I wasn't able to find anything. From what I find, I'm assuming it's an umbrella term for a bunch of different trees, but I wanted to see if anybody knows more! Thank you!
Are my stairs too far gone? HELP
What about it?
First time home owner here, and I am lost as to what to do next. I tore out carpet linoleum and removed all of the mastic on my pine stairs and just by looking at them. I can’t tell if they’re too far gone to be saved. Can I sand and seal them? Are they too damaged?
