First time using stain, what did I do wrong?
What about it?
As you can see in the photo there are very dark dots that seemed to absorb much more stain. This is a very old piece of pine I found to test color combinations because I am going to be staining our butcher block which is also pine. This is my first time staining. I used a minwax oil based stain combination and also used a prestain beforehand
Bridge city plane
What about it?
I’m considering making an admittedly dumb purchase. I’ve been looking at a beige city block plane for a while and I think I want one. Problem is I can’t find a review that seems trustworthy.
I don’t expect this to be twice as good as a veritos or lie nielson, but I don’t want to spend twice the money to have something that is worse.
Anyone have any experience with this plane?
How would you repair this?
What about it?
I am helping a friend repair this weather beaten outdoor chair, one of the arms has split from moisture, how would you suggest giving it some extra life? Should I fill it with wood putty, glue, epoxy? Not desperate in making this brand new, just make it usable again.
Advice for removing dark water stain off an oak table
What about it?
Can you recommend the best way of returning the dark park of the wood to its original oak colour? Some sources online recommend hydrogen peroxide but am not sure if this level of damage requires more specialist treatment.
The table was left outside for about 6 weeks and the damage is predominantly from rainfall. There was no protective finish on the table too prior to the damage from what I can tell.
Any advice really appreciated!
