First Look: Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of The Fall of the House of Usher

What about it?

From the article: ““From Mike Flanagan, the creator of The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass, a wicked horror series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege, and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.”” The Fall of the House of Usher runs eight episodes; it’s created by Flanagan, and he’ll direct four of the episodes, with Michael Fimognari handling the remainder. The cast is—as is tradition—packed with performers familiar to previous Flanagan projects, with some new faces also coming aboard.” Source: Gizmodo https://gizmodo.com/netflix-horror-mike-flanagan-house-of-usher-first-look-1850725012/slides/13

What’s a movie that you loved when you were younger, but turned out to be kinda awful rewatching as an adult?

What about it?

My partner had never seen Scream, and it was streaming free so we watched it. I did not realize or remember how much creepy coercion was going on in this flick. It was scarier than the serial killing. Neve Campbell’s character is dealing with people dying at school, her mom’s death anniversary coming up, being attacked by a killer, and a jerk journalist hounding her - all Skeet can think of is when they’re gonna get a rated NC-17 relationship 🥴 I love the plot and all the little Easter eggs (“Not you, Fred”, “Jamie, look behind you!”) but boy howdy this got me. Is there any movie you’ve been like “oh you gotta watch this?!” And then ended up cringing over? (Also I hope this isn’t a repost and has the right flare, first time posting here)
