Three silver lions in Rosenborg Castle, made 1665-1670 by Ferdinand Küblich. They are used on solemn occasions as guards around the throne. Thought to be inspired by the stories of King Solomon from The Old Testament, in whose court there were 12 golden lions protecting the throne. [4032x2268]
11 Handmade Books by James Castle on display at the Hirschl & Adler Galleries in New York. Castle was a deaf artist famous as an "outsider artist" for creating art out of trash and using sticks and ash for tools. This book was found in the walls of his home and used as insulation. [1010x580]
