Is this okay for a wedding?

Hello everyone! My wonderful mother is going to order this dress to wear to a family member’s wedding (in Tennessee, USA for context). I feel that this may be bordering on inappropriate due to the color of the dress but some of my friends say that it’s fine since the style is nothing like a wedding dress. I’m wondering if I should bring this up with her as I don’t want her to feel embarrassed when the day comes. Do you guys think it’s okay?
