3 years later, I finally graduated

My goal was to reach 2000 elo. Next, I want to get my blitz rating up there as well.

Can someone explain the mistake here? I considered both options and chose d5 because it was a more central position and I couldn't see any threat to my current position. Coach says I'll eventually lose a pawn but I can't see how.

I this position, how do I know which move (Qc6, Qb6 or Qc8) is the best? How do I assess this?
