Help! Leaving adopted dog home alone for first time

We got our dog from the shelter about a month ago. We have never left him alone and never crated him. He understandably has some attachment issues. We just got the crate pictured and plan to leave him home alone for about 3 hours this weekend. Will this crate be okay? Is there any way to make it more homey/comfortable for him? I like that the crate stores easy but have fears of him chewing through and getting sick or somehow collapsing it on himself. Any advice would be appreciated! Alternatively, maybe we could try to take him but I know at some point, inevitably, we will have to leave him home alone.

So im rocking an Asus TUF dash F15 and i have no problems so far, but everytime i boot up a REALLY graphics intensive game like baldurs gate 3 or armored core 6 i can hear the fans going overtime and im wondering if i can maybe put up a cooler in these air vents to improve temps? And if i can is there any you guys can reccomend? (I can tape it on if i need to)
