I just tried to use fireball for the first time and it says the range is 18m but it won’t shoot far enough for me to even be out of the blast zone… what?

Man, the last couple of hours up to this point have been a rollercoaster. Without spoilers, am I at the point everyone talks about were the game "gets worse"? Either way, this game is a true masterpiece. As a huge Mass Effect fan who loves this kind of RPG you really couldn't wish for much else.

Anyone have issues with enemies attacking through floors?

Came back here after starting act 2 (just reached the inn), when I was more prepared, expecting the fight. The conversation could be repeated multiple times and I could kill them without them fighting back. Will this affect the story badly, or should I keep going?
