Saw this in a movie I watched. Any ideas on what on earth this car was before it got totaled?

Google says Chevrolet Opala, but i’m confused as the rims and other details don’t match up, but they do look similar? Thanks in advance for any answers

Aunt sent it to me from a British car show. Appears to have a Ford v8 under the hood and a red, white and blue badge although Im pretty sure it's not a Cobra. Any ideas?
