I found these puffball mushrooms blown open, still safe to eat?

Bought a new bag of beef jerky, ate some before noticing some white on some pieces. Is this mold?

Found on wild cherry -- definitely not conifer. My eyes are too dumb to tell if that's a white or lavender or tan spore.
