my dad drunk texted me, after we had a conversation and he told me he’d stop drinking
context:
he got home late at night, after i told him i wanted him to watch a movie with me after school and he said he would. i’ve been begging him to stop drinking for YEARS. his dad was an alcoholic, he’s borderline. literally for christmas and my birthday from ages 6-12 (i’m 17 now) i begged him for my only present to be him to stop drinking.
and per the car thing, i pay for it. i’m ahead on my payments. it’s $11,000 and the only bit he paid was for a $500 repair that i asked if he wanted me to pay for, and he said no. he just holds it over my head now. and i’m not even sure how that relates at all to his drinking? after this text exchange he came upstairs to take my phone away, and he said “you’re not a victim! what would you be a victim of? you’re a victim of driving a bmw!†so basically he can’t own up to any of his own stuff and finds unrelated and invalid things to have against me.
