Leaking flush assembly

The refill tube is dripping about 2 drops a second. That's like 172,800 drips a day. . .any way to stop this from drip drop dripping? Pressing up on the float does not stop the dripping.

Toilet either doesn’t flush all the way or lets all the water out of the tank?

I have a Fluidmaster adjustable flapper and it’s brand new. No matter what setting I move it to, I can’t get the right flush. It will either let all the water out or will barely flush at all. Even when just moving from a 6 to a 7 I have that dramatic of a difference. The chain has about 1/2 in of slack and this was installed by a plumber during a partial tank rebuild. The chain isn’t getting caught under the flapper. Is the flapper defective or could I have another problem?

Shower valve substitute?

I remodeled a bathroom and due to lack of communication between me, my contractor, and plumber, I ended up with a less than ideal situation. Most of it I’ve pivoted and worked through. However, he’s saying I need a Delta Monitor 13 Series Shower Valve. Every fixture in the bathroom is brushed gold, and they only make this valve in chrome. It sounds like he’s already installed the valve on the other side of the wall. Is cracking some tile and redoing the whole thing the only option now? For context, it’s a ceiling rainhead shower, plumbed with an additional line for a horizontal shower and wand combo.

Dented water heater

I got a new water heater from Lowe’s and after my installer completed installation, I noticed this large dent. Is this cosmetic or should I be concerned about the performance of the tank or potential leakage?

Every 2-3 years I need to replace these due to slow leak in toilet. Is that the expected life for them? Are there better quality ones? We have a water softener and chlorine filter for house.

Is it possible to clean/repair a shower cartridge? I'm desperate.

It's my second time asking a question here about the same dang shower part so if the pic looks familiar, hi, I'm back! Been without a tub for a month. I have a replacement piece on order but there's a shortage so I'll be waiting at least another month. My household would really benefit from having a short term fix to see us through. Cartridge is rusty, and no water comes through at all. When it's removed and the faucet thingies are turned, water comes through the pipes. When the cartridge is in place, no water at all. So the problem-child is the cartridge. I don't have much to lose if I accidentally destroy the thing, because we're starting from rock bottom anyway. Any stern warnings against trying to clean/fix this thing? Any tips? Is this a complete fool's errand? Additional info: the handle caught and "kerchunked" when it first broke and we went from totally fine shower to totally not fine shower. Plumber suspects a hunk of rust hit us through the pipes and despite the visible rust on it, it felt like something snapped or dislodged in there. I've had two plumbers in now who've said two completely different things, but second at least proved it's the cartridge. If you have any experience with a clunking, catching handle followed by a cartridge not working, I'd love some insight.
