1. A Boring Dystopia This subreddit is centered around a specific theme: archiving horrible/dystopian events and facilitating discussion about it. It is not a r/WhitePeopleTwitter style "free for all" where everything goes.

Posts that do not fit the adjective and noun in the name of this sub will be removed. In cases of brazen violation of this rule a ban may be issued.

2. Site-Wide Rules Users that promote hate based on identity or vulnerability will be banned. Accounts suspected of ban evasion may be banned.

3. Conversation Etiquette The goal of this subreddit is to facilitate an environment where people can comfortably and constructively converse and discuss. Deliberate attempts to disrupt this environment will result in a ban and comment removal.

Examples:

-name calling; be it plain insults or online buzzwords, for example "bootlicker"

-arguing in bad faith, such as whataboutism, derailing the discussion or any other attempts to shut down a discussion

4. Advocating Violence Advocating violence is against Reddit's sitewide rules. Violations will result in a temporary ban, with a permaban for repeat or serious offences. This rule includes thinly-veiled threats, or slogans such as "Eat the Rich".

5. No Low-Quality Posts Social media screenshots/links (Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, etc), memes, webcomics, or other low-effort content will be removed and bans may be issued.

This rule also applies to overdone topics, including but not limited to: Medical bills, preventative measures for mass shootings, police violence, the cost of luxury purchases, charity for the destitute, generic US politics discourse, etc.

6. Provide sources in comments If you are posting an article screenshot, or making a debated claim, provide the original source link in the comments. Bans may be issued for deliberately spreading misinformation in either posts or comments. Satire must be flaired "Satire".

Rule is common-sense of course: you do not need to provide a source for a personal anecdote, or a generalization.

7. This is not a Reddit drama sub This sub is dedicated to archiving the boring dystopia we live in on a societal level. It is not dedicated to archive events going on on reddit or other social media platforms.

8. Soapboxing This subreddit is dedicated to archiving the horrid and boring events and institutions of our society.

Posts that are only a vehicle to express the posters opinion on a subject, do not fit the subreddit and will be removed accordingly.

9. Repost - Common post or posted in the past 14 days. Reposts are not allowed. If a post has been submitted or featured on the front page of this subreddit in the past 14 days, it will be removed and result in a possible ban. Common reposts may also be removed.

10. Brigading and other organized harassment. Calls for brigading or harassment of others on reddit, other sites or irl is not allowed and will be punished accordingly.

Posts involving neither public figures nor news sources must be censored accordingly to prevent identification.
