Review

Core systems center on timed raids where players select loadouts for stealth or direct fights, manage inventory space during loot runs, and call in support tools to disrupt ARC units that adapt to player positions. Matches end abruptly if the extraction window closes or if the group fails to clear landing zones in time. Environments show cracked concrete overgrown with vines under hazy skies, while ARC units emit grinding metal tones and distant warning sirens during alerts. Sound design emphasizes footsteps on debris and weapon echoes that draw more attention from nearby threats. The experience suits groups familiar with extraction loops who enjoy planning routes around patrol patterns rather than open combat arenas.

Started out unsure because a friend kept pushing it, but the first twenty minutes of ARC Raiders settled into the same loop every time. You pick a route through the ruins, keep an eye on the horizon for patrols, and spend most of your time deciding what you can actually carry back without losing speed. Nothing really surprises you after the first drop.

The concrete moment that sticks is standing in a half-collapsed warehouse, swapping out a heavier battery pack for a lighter one because the extra weight was already slowing my strafe speed. Teammates were calling positions over comms, but it still felt like I was mostly managing inventory rather than fighting. The game keeps giving you those small trade-off decisions instead of big set pieces.

What limits it for me is how little the pacing changes once you learn the patrol timing. After the initial caution wears off, the next fifteen minutes are just the same careful movement and quick looting repeated until the extraction window opens. It’s functional, but it doesn’t do much to keep your attention once the pattern is obvious.
