Last night I made a bald, thin-faced character and spent the first ten minutes crouched on a dock in Auroria, clicking crates that still needed loading onto a schooner. The movement is slow enough that you actually feel the weight, which is what I liked.
What wore thin fast is that the same animation loop runs every time you open a crate or swing an axe, so twenty minutes in it starts to feel like you’re just pressing E on repeat.
I joined a small sea raid later and the cannons on my ship barely turned before the other boat was already past us. ArcheAge Chronicles seems to be the kind of thing you either commit whole evenings to or you don’t bother.

ArcheAge Chronicles

Players create a custom character and travel across Auroria, taking part in land-based battles, sea voyages, and large-scale raids while gathering resources to craft weapons and structures.
Review
Combat and crafting are tightly linked, with players gathering ore and timber on the spot to build siege weapons that can be destroyed by enemy groups within minutes. The world is rendered with large draw distances that let players spot distant airships or approaching naval fleets, while the soundtrack shifts from soft strings in forests to heavy percussion during castle sieges. The game suits experienced MMO players who enjoy organizing territory wars and long-term guild projects rather than quick solo sessions.
