YoloMouse - Cursor Changer

★ 7/10 $3.99 📅 2020-05-01

YoloMouse lets players swap out any game's default cursor for a custom one they design themselves. Users import images, apply scaling and visual effects, then assign the new cursor to specific applications or system-wide. The software runs in the background, instantly replacing the original pointer whenever the chosen program launches.

Review

Cursor replacement works by intercepting the operating system's pointer calls, letting players test size, color, and animation settings in a live preview window before applying them. The interface displays a grid of saved cursors beside a properties panel where sliders adjust scale, rotation speed, and trail length. Each profile can be bound to a hotkey, so switching between a large red crosshair for shooters and a minimalist dot for design work takes only a second. The program itself shows a compact, dark-themed window with no animations or decorative flourishes. All controls sit in clearly labeled tabs, and tooltips explain each slider without requiring an external manual. Sound is limited to a single, soft click when a new profile loads. The tool suits anyone who regularly plays fast-paced multiplayer games or works in graphics applications where the standard arrow can disappear against busy backgrounds. It is also useful for streamers who want a distinct cursor visible to viewers and for accessibility users who need higher contrast or larger pointers.

Most of the first hour was spent looking at menus and waiting for the next animation to finish. I nearly closed it then, but the part where you actually line up four panels in a row finally clicked for me and the rest of the session was mostly that.

The actual activity boils down to dragging colored pieces across a grid while a timer runs down. Twenty minutes in and I was still just waiting for the next piece to drop or for the grid to clear, nothing else really changed.

I tried swapping the system pointer with YoloMouse - Cursor Changer to make the tiny selection box easier to track, but the game still moved everything else at the same slow speed.
