How to remove old blood stains from knitted items.

What about it?

This hand knitted baby sweater plus cop has old blood stains from my Dad’s cut finger. This was made in 1970 so it’s a little fragile. It was worn by my now deceased son so I would really like to get these stains out. If anyone knows what will help, I would greatly appreciate it!

I have a set of mason jar mugs with glass handles that must have air bubbles or pockets and I can’t seem to get them clean. I’ve soaked them for hours, ran through the dishwasher nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any tips?
