Cupcakes and buttercream from scratch. Dipped pretzels, tea cookies, and sandwich cookie hoarded from Trader Joe's in the last ube season lol been planning this bake since last year!

My first bread loaf

I (20M) just baked my very first loaf of bread. I followed the recipe Dutch Oven Bread Recipe by Tasty. I did not use a scale and I used 1/3 of the salt it called for. Polite criticism and feedback would be appreciated.

would premade crust pans work in a water bath? I usually use a springform pan w my own crust. Idk if this would hold up

Softening butter - how have I’ve been so stupid?

What about it?

I’ve been baking for over a decade and I just figured that putting butter in warm water is the best way to quickly soften it. I’ve been leaving my butter out on the counter for hours and depending on the winter sometimes it never really gets soft enough and microwave is just a one-way street to melting butter.
