PSA- don’t give your cat GARLIC!!

PSA - don’t give your cat anything with GARLIC in it They stray boy I look after meowed me into goving him a little pork I cooked, However I forgot I had put tones of cloves of garlic in the pork! And on a whim I google garlic and cats after he ate, to my horror: “In severe cases, even a small amount of garlic (approximately one clove or 1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder) can lead to organ damage, organ failure, or death in a cat.” I believe he ate at lease 2 cloves of garlic I took him to the 24/7 vet, after phoning and trying to figure out the cost - which ended up being $260, $180 for after hours visit and $80 for an injection to make him throw up, they also gave me some charcoal to mix with his food to absorb the toxins, If I had not done a google search on a whim within a day or so it would have all been absorbed and too late, I hope this is a good psa, I will also mention the injection made him very sleepy and scared- like he was drunk, he came to my bed, sat on my chest and put his head under my chin while he rested, it was really touching, sad and sweet
