Dog jumping and being agressive around certain parts of the house.

What about it?

Hello, We've got a 8 month old Kelle x Mastiff x possibly GSD around 40kg. We got him at 12 weeks not knowing how large he would become. He's amazing in most respects apart from the jumping up when he's excited. Because of his size he has the ability to jump and nip people's arms etc. That's not really the issue as he calms down pretty quickly the he's lovely. We assume he'll grow out of that as he gets older. The main issue for me at the moment is that when I walk from the front door to the letterbox he gets quite agressive towards me and starts jumping/ nipping and grabbing clothes. He gets his low growl on and spreads his toes out in the hearding motion. I've tried ignoring him, he just jumps and nips. If I walk through him he moves around behind me and grabs my pants or shoes. As soon as I get back to the front door he backs off. I've just started walking up and down the driveway to the letterbox and around with treats and stopping, then marking everytime he sits in front of me. Is he resource guarding his toys that are out front? Is he trying to stop me from leaving? Is he just trying to initiate play with me? Any ideas are appreciated.

Cockapoo Ears

What about it?

Hi all, just wanted to see if I could get some general advice. A work colleague has a cockapoo and his ears have had constant infections. His right ear had a ‘right total ear canal ablation with lateral bulla osteotomy’ with chronic persistent right ear disease. The left ear has also showing inflammation now as well and she’s not sure where to go. Several vets don’t know what the underlying cause of this is or where it has stemmed from so thought I’d ask.
