I got a shit dinner from a food truck (raw shrimp) so I was pretty hungry around 8pm. Ordered some fast food, tipped 6.50 for about 2 miles (6 min drive). Dasher followed my poor instructions and left it at the wrong hotel room. They were helpful when I called, but someone stole the food. I contacted support and got a refund, reordered, and the same dasher got assigned. Met them in the lobby this time and was able to chat for a sec and they were really nice, we both apologized, and I appreciated their sincerity and kindness so I added extra after the fact. Dashers do hard work and although I hate the concept of the work, those of us who can throw a few bucks extra on tips absolutely should.

I ordered $30 of food and tipped $7 for a 1.5 mile drive from the restaurant. Once connected to the driver, I asked that they leave the food by the door but not to knock. They immediately unassigned. I sent a note to the next dasher stating the same thing but adding it was due to a sleeping baby so they didn’t think it was a scammer. But nothing - and now my order time keeps getting delayed 😫 please feed me 🙏🏻

I did it boys/girls made it actually worth it to use this piece of shit app. If I didn’t tip some shmuck would have took it anyway leaving my total $11.76 which I think would be on par or cheaper then if I went in person lol

Weird experience with a driver

What about it?

I usually use SkipTheDishes but decided to try Doordash the other night instead. My driver started to text me directly to my phone number and not through the app, and gave me constant updates even though I can see them on doordash. Is this normal? The guy also insinuated more tip money (I tipped $6 on a $30 order) when talking about how the restaurant was taking a little bit, and when he arrived at my door he stood and waited for me to answer it even though I put contactless delivery. After thanking him and taking my food, he just kept standing there and waiting for what I assume was more tip money. I just said have a good night and shut the door, he never said anything else. Strange interaction, I've never had a driver on any delivery apps text me about food unless it was completely necessary. The guy was nice and was never rude but it still felt weird.
