My 13yo, Jazz. He only recently started hanging out on the perch where his older brother, Davey, used to hang. I wonder if Davey’s smell is still there, even after passing in April.

(16) Mackerel and (14) Bear (Update)

What about it?

Update: Reposting as I forgot to include age in the title. Mackerel is a he, no mistaking, is diabetic but otherwise in good health. He has made himself at home. I am not a karma whore, I couldn’t care less. I don’t know who user Tony is, Mack’s pervious owner name is Erik H. I offered the user to meet me at the vet but he refused, so not sure if he is Erik or not.

My crazy senior kitty. Meet Patrick. (15 - I think!)

What about it?

Patrick is a very old kitty and lives a very cushy life. We adopted him in 2009, but he was not a kitten so we really don’t know how old he is. Patrick is loved to death by the family and he hates every minute of it. He is now deaf and loves to scream at us for every displeasure in his life, like an empty food bowl or a closed door. We love him.

Not a server: wtf is going on here?

What about it?

We went for a company dinner at Benihana in the Mall of America. We had table side service instead of eating at the hibachi table. It was clear that the morale of the waiting staff was very low. The waitress brought the card reader. We were shocked when we saw the total on the screen at $214.92. The server quickly hit 0% tip, then began expressing her frustrations. Apparently, they no longer accept credit card tips. Instead, tips had to be either paid in cash or Venmo (!?). She said that the total includes a 6% service fee that she gets instead of tips. Nothing was making sense to us. Then we got the itemized receipt. Aside from the $25.50 glass of wine (wtf), the subtotal + tax should come out to $181.96. Instead they somehow arrived at $214.92. What was supposed to be a 6% service fee came out to 18%. I’m not even sure if that counts as a tip because you can clearly see a line item that says 0% tip, which the waitress herself pressed. Can someone explain what happened here? I’m not mad because the company will reimburse us. I’m just very well aware of the struggles that servers face. If Benihana is pulling something sketchy then the public should know about it before dining here again.

Looking for a very low but very reinforced TV console/stand solution

What about it?

Ok so I have this cozy retro corner in our bedroom. But the CRT on the floor is not the best viewing angle, even from a bean bag. Based on the shelves and wall mounted TV that are above it, I can only bring the CRT up about 14 inches. The space is 38 inches wide. This is pretty specific though, and I'm having trouble finding a tv console/stand that's less than 14 inches tall, and reinforced enough to carry this BEEFY Trinitron. Of course I could just put it on like, a solid wooden block or something? But ideally I'd like it to have at least a little 6 inch hollow space to slide discs/controllers/cables in so things look tidy. Any leads bros?
