Water filtration system

What about it?

Hello, I have a sink with a spray faucet on the side that I never use. I'm considering installing a water filtration system under the sink and utilizing the existing hole where the nozzle comes out. If necessary, I could install a new tap in that hole, but since I'm in a rental, I prefer not to. My plan is to keep the spray nozzle and connect the filtration system between the spray hose and the cold water supply. This way, I can use the spray nozzle to pour the filtered water. I must clarify that I'm new to plumbing; the most complex thing I've done is installing a bidet. If you have any advice or feedback on this drinking water solution, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you! I am a complete amateur to plumbing, the most I’ve done is installed a bidet (which changed my life and I recommend you try it!). Any feedback on this drinking water solution would be appreciated.

Is this diy?

What about it?

Plumbing knowledge is little. I've replaced faucets and p traps. Is this pipe going into the wall diy-able? Difficulty level? It looks like a multi piece that I'd have to put together to get the right angles.

Installing Slop Sink with grey water pup

What about it?

I want to install a slop sink with a grey water pump to get the water up to the house sanitary line. Two questions: I’m pretty handy. Is this a job you think a homeowner can do? Would I just cut into the straight line and install a T or 45 to connect to the pump?

What’s the best band aid for this…?

What about it?

Hey r/plumbing, I went searching for mushrooms at my moms place in southern Oregon, found the source of the fruiting bodies! Can y’all lend some advice about what to do here? My analysis: there’s a systemic problem with the water quality that has led to this corrosion and probably the type of pipe (from the 80’s?). I think re doing the whole house’s plumbing is a good investment. But time and money and plumbers blah blah blah. Right now I just want to cap the taped joint (Yes, I did indeed try to tape it with gorilla tape. No, you guessed it, it did not do shit.) Any advice on how to do it and with what type of material? Thanks in advance. I’d love to get this fixed, even if it means less mushrooms 🫠

Do I need to replace the pressure valve in order to replace the handle?

What about it?

Posting this again here, I’m hoping some one can tell me if I need to replace the entire single pressure valve and cartridge if I want a new handle on my shower. I’m in the process of renovating my shower and I can do most of the work, just not 100 percent sure of the entire valve needs to be replaced. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. I really enjoy and respect the folks in this community. Thanks!

Water Heater Leaking

What about it?

Water heater overflowed while we were out of town. There’s a little water on the slab below the cabinet, and the drain pan is totally full. Looks to me like the drain pipe is clogged, so the pan overflowed. I’m going to try to clean the line, but the pilot light went out and it’s out of commission. Is it safe to fire back up once it dries out? I don’t see any leaks anywhere off hand.

Any idea how to get this loose?

What about it?

Can’t find any tool that will fit between the sink and the wood on the other side to actually get it loose.
