Puffball monstrosity

What about it?

My daughter and I found this peculiar squishy mush mass on one of our nature walks yesterday. We found a number of run of the mill white puffballs in the same forest. This one seemed the same consistency as a puffball, but obviously very different in appearance, and not near the others. Any thoughts on what it might be? Southern Ontario, Canada.

I was honestly blown away with how fast it blew up and it helped so much. I ended up getting an attorney, she also decided to come back to try and get money from me...and while I tried to get some of my things from the car, she floored it in reverse and basically ran me over... she then had a warrant for 2nd degree domestic violence. Nobody knew where she was at, until she was arrested 2.5 hours away, surprise, for drugs. She was then transferred to our county and immediately released on PR bond. The following day she was released we were supposed to go to court for the Protective Order that I filed when she hit me with the car. She left the jail and never came back. She was a no show at court, they continued the hearing because apparently nobody served her the paperwork needed to make sure she knew about it...even tho her family knew, told her and she even told the judge during her bond hearing she had court tomorrow for custody of the kids...essentially. She's been arrested one other time since then, for giving false information to law enforcement. Bonded out and as far as I know hasn't been back to any of her hearings after that. She's missed birthdays, mothers day, about to miss the first days of school for our youngest which is starting kindergarten Monday. Smh. After she was a no show in court my lawyer told me if I had to leave state, do it. After 6 months of living in Tennessee, I'll be able to go to the court house here and file for abandonment and recieve full custody. I'm not gonna lie and say I'm happy with everything, and I'm crushed that she would not just leave me, but her children. And not have a care in the world to even talk to them. Her family pushes for me to come back and calls me a POS for not, but I cannot risk that. I'm sure she wouldn't be plotting anything, just with what's happened, but not taking the chance. I just felt the need to give somewhat of an update, to those saying it's probably my fault and there's 2 sides to every story. That's true, but idt anything I could do should cause thus to happen. I'm doing what's best for my kids and we'll be okay 🙌 Thank you guys.
