WiFi assist on iPhone is virtually nonfunctional

I’ve had Wi-Fi assist turned on for 3 straight years and it does literally nothing. It’s used less than 50kb of data in that time period. I have to turn my Wi-Fi off when it’s slow because Wi-Fi assist does absolutely nothing

To make it a little more infuriating, right on the other side of the parking space directly to the left is a *cart corral*! Like really? You're literally feet from the corral but leave your cart in the middle of a parking spot? I was going into the store so I just took it with me to use because I sure wasn't going to leave it there.
