How can I add color to my room? (Layout just for reference, not accurate)

What about it?

So I still live with my parents, and my room needs a complete redo. It's got all the shit from my whole life and I'm 22. It doesn't really scream "I'm trying to become an adult" but instead "I want to be a boy and live with mom forever." I've already decluttered once, and I'm about to completely purge it. Next to my bed is a shelf that runs the full length of my bed, and it is filled with a bunch of stuff that doesn't go together. In between my door and my desk is a closet and a TV that would make r/TVtoohigh crucify me lol. Anyway, here's the problem: I love the modern/contemporary looks, and the grayscale is easy on the eyes, but I'd like to add color to it. I've never worked with color pallettes or done any interior design. Are there any tips you all could give so I can make my room more sleek and clean, modern, but not... bleak?

Two years living alone after starting with literally nothing. Feels like home.

Rest of the house is unsightly, but I'm proud of my little desk space I've carved out.
