Thranduil Just gave you his sword, how many orcs do you think you can take at once?

What about it?

I wouldn’t want to push my luck so i’d say about 2..

Anyone got these Sauron publicity stills in high resolution? Reverse search turned up nothing. Any good quality stills of the original costume would be great!

Which character would have the easiest time adjusting if they were spontaneously teleported to our modern world?

What about it?

Based on my experience of movie-only exposure, I think Sam would adapt the easiest to modern life, especially if he was teleported to a souther state in America or a more rural place in Europe. He’s personable, patient, kind, and I think others would readily help him navigate the complications of contemporary lifestyles. Bonus: who would do the worst? Even more so than an orc, I think Gollum would get absolutely wrecked in the modern day.

WTAF NYT?

What about it?

I do the NYT Crossword every day. I’m pretty good at it and rarely get stumped. But this Saturday’s puzzle had me over a barrel. I didn’t even get halfway done… upon finally giving up and revealing the answers, I have determined that this one clue renders the entire puzzle illegitimate.

Tolkien book collectors, do you read the nicer more expensive hard cover books or do you keep them as collectors items?

What about it?

I want to buy this hard cover release of The Silmarillion, but it seems like too nice of a book to handle and crease etc. Plus large hard cover books seem more cumbersome to read. So should I buy it as a display piece only and just buy a cheap paperback version to read? Or should I read this one? What do you guys do who own nicer versions of lotr books?
