What are these white dots along the edges of my furniture? Its on every edge

What is this plastic thing we found in our house? Round plastic disk (about 3" diameter) with zigzag slots and a pull tab/handle.

We found this in the kitchen cabinets after a recent move. Other things we found left in the kitchen were a french press, a loose leaf tea brewer, and a travel mug, so we think it may be drink-related. It looks like it could be a good size for the French press, but I've looked up french press accessories and can't find anything. Anybody know what this is?
