Can anyone identify this black beetle?

Lately a bunch of these little black beetles have been seen around my workplace. They're smaller than my fingernail and there have been at least a dozen seen in two days. I'm located in central New Mexico. Thanks!

What's This Roach?

I'm curious as to which species of cockroach this is. My guess is wood roach. This one is young, about 1/2" to 3/4" long, found dead after falling into its back in my bathtub overnight. The adults can get large, maybe 1 1/2", nearly black and may fly. North Georgia USA. They will walk in through my back door and infest the house. Not as prolific as the German variety, but still an infestation problem.
