What was your 80’s dream car?

In Southern California, it seemed like the lifted Toyota pickup was the popular guy’s choice and the white VW Cabriolet was the ladies’s preference. I had neither.

How to fix?

Basement sink is plugged into main drain like this and causing stink. How do I cap this cast iron pipe and drain the sink into it with a new pvc trap setup?

Replacing a "non-standard" faucet?

I have replaced a few faucets over the years and they are fairly straight forward. All of them, including the new faucet I'm trying to install have threaded washers for ease of installation. The faucet I'm trying to remove does not have this and I have no idea how to remove it. Any advice?

Kitchen sink leaked for days

My kitchen sink leaked for 2-3 days—you can see the soaked cabinetry. There’s an odor and I worry about rot and developing mold. 1. How to dry it after I soak up all I can with towels? A dehumidifier plus fan is $76/day! (I’m renting so just looking for a 1-2yr fix. The landlord ups my rent anytime I report an issue.) 2. The trap falls out every 6mo, usually when draining a full sink. Last time I added a makeshift support (container under it). It was gone. Can’t say who moved it. I’m thinking a $12 pipe ceiling support would avoid the trap falling and be so obvious nobody would accidently move it?

Help replacing p trap!

I’m trying to replace my bathroom sink and I can’t figure out how to remove this p trap. There is no nut on the wall end and the one under the sink is too tight to budge (possibly glued). Please help! (This is my first ever plumbing project so details and simple language would be really appreciated!!)

[Question] Help specifying thread and size?

Good day, friends. I’ve received the specs for a Thermador T36IF905SP column freezer. The appliance specifies for a 7/16”-24 ice maker box. I have 1/2” copper piping at home. I’m not knowledgeable with pipe/thread sizes. I did some googling. Some results say that’s thread for 1/4” compression but others say it’s actually 7/16”-20. Is this correct? Any help is appreciated.

How did I do? DIY kitchen sink. Trap is in the basement directly below.

Did all the plumbing here for my kitchen Reno. P trap is in the basement below to save space for a drawer. Dishwasher is not functional yet so the drain isn’t connected just dry fit.

Is this worth fixing?

For one, it’s an S trap. Secondly it’s twisted out toward the wall. Third there’s that belly at the reducing Fernco on the left. Finally, every plumbers favorite, accordion pipe. This photo is from a friends house, and I do not know what is below.

Move kitchen sink to opposite side of room

Doing new cabinets and considering moving my sink to the opposite side of the room. If I move the sink to behind where I’m taking the photo can I just install a tee in place of that top 90 bend? More than just the kitchen sink drains there currently so it would need to remain.

Probably dumb question but please help (water pressure)

So I have a new water pressure gauge and the red needle was something that wasn’t on my old one. I regularly check the pressure a couple times a year… Anyway, I noticed that red needle will go higher when I turn the water on or off quickly, yet the black needle NEVER goes above 66 or so. I know the red needle records spikes, but it’s like it goes higher on it’s own without the black needle ever getting that high, it may even jump when I slowly turn the water off. I just want to make sure I don’t have a water pressure issue (we had a PRV go out at our last house and I’m slightly paranoid). Can someone tell me if I need to be concerned or not? Thanks for any help!
