Audio controller problem

So I literally just got this new controller for my ps4, a DualShock 4, but somehow it doesn’t do “surround sound” ? Like, when some characters are on my left talking, well I hear them everywhere. I don’t know how to change this, it’s not my headset, it works perfectly with my old controllers, and I’m playing life is strange two so there’s not settings on that. Anyone knows how to fix this ? Headset is a must when playing for me it’s more immersive but I don’t wanna use my old broken controllers..that’s why I bought a new one
