I keep finding these small beetle looking bugs all around my apartment. Mostly in the carpet. Google has been no help to identify them

Lilly Pilly Beetle

Hey guys, This little guys here is a Lilly Pilly beetle from South Australia (Paropsides Calypso). I’m hoping someone on here has some experience with them, this one showed me it’s wings today and to my surprise they are bright purple. Is this common? I’ve never seen anything like it.

It seems to be interested on the steak leftovers, so I found it weird to be there, I thought they liked flowers? Lol. It was in London. It's zoomed in, it isn't too big. Does this one sting? My husband is terrified of them and I told them they were harmless and I want to know if I lied or not.

I have zero clue what this is or if it even is a bug it basically covers a 1/8 of my blanket can't find anymore of them it's these hard small tanish-brown poppy seed like bug eggs I also have two cats that go in and out all the time so maybe they brought them in please help
