What kind or color of stain would give me the darker look?

Making a desk top, and thought I was going to use clear varathane to finish it. When I epoxied the holes it really brought out the a lot of subtle grains I didn't see originally. I really like this tone. Does anyone have ideas on how to get this kind of vibrancy? Wood is Ash if that helps.

Custom Finial

I need a woodworker to recreate a finial for me. I am able to draw what I want in Adobe Illustrator with exact measurements. Would someone be able to work off a 2D drawing? Do I need to create it in a 3D program like CAD? OR what is the best way to give a woodworker my request? Thanks!

How would you add lateral stability?

I found this design on google-kudos to whoever designed the original. My version is made with 2x4 construction lumber and intended to permit a vertically challenged daughter better access to her bed at college. The supports are attached via mortise and tenon (1” diameter by 5/8” length /25mm x16mm) posts. How would you add extra stability for the side to side stresses?

Any clue how to accomplish this? Adding to the fun, I’d be installing it on an angled ceiling, sloped left to right.

How did I do?

Went with my lady to the thrift stores, picked up a table saw for 200 bucks. Little pricey for second hand store but was a nice big saw and I just got a nice big shop so I feel solid about it. Worth it to me so I guess that’s all that matters but can’t find one online.

Mounting mirror and tile in wooden frame

Hey yall, I’ve been carving this frame for a while now, and I’m finally almost ready to put it together. Now I just have to get some kind of backing board to mount the mirror and four tiles inside the frame (they’re just laid in place in this picture). What material should I use for that? I was considering hardboard - if that’s a good option, is 1/8 inch thick enough or do I need 1/4? Should I use plywood instead, and if so, what thickness? I’m planning to use liquid nails mirror adhesive to attach the mirror to the board, and figured that would work for the tiles too. Then I can nail or screw the backing board to the back of the frame.

How can I fill this gap?

These are very thin mdf wainscoting panels. I’m afraid that caulk would eventually crack in these larger gaps. I appreciate your help.

Inheirited this redwood burl slab, how can I restore it?

My dad picked this up like 10 years ago when he was doing a remodel job. He has since passed and now it's mine. It holds a special place in my heart because of him and it was even my head table at my wedding last year. I don't do much woodworking, but it looks like it may need to be refinished/stained at some point? How would I go about doing that, especially since it has so many grooves and edges.
