So is the website just bs? Because they won't price match..

So as per their website and the link on the item I was trying to purchase, it states that they do price match online prices with some stipulations... So I bought a Bissell proheat 2x revolution pet carpet cleaner. Online it says it's $188 and when I went to the store to get it, it rings up at $210. I mentioned it to the cashier who quickly told me they don't price match. I told her I just read online that they do..so she called over her manager or whoever and he didn't mind at all. Put in the $188 price no problem. So then I went home. Tried it. It's broken. Water pours out the bottom. So I was going to exhange it but they are sold out there. So I went to the next town over to exhange it. Went over to customer service and explained and he said he would just give me a store credit and I could go back to grab the other one. So I go grab the other one. Get back to customer service and it's some other girl there and she says they don't price match when it rings up for $214..even more than the other store let alone their online price. I said but the other one they did...I'm just exchanging it for the exact same one... she said no. Another girl comes over. Says the same.. then another woman they went to go get I'm assuming a manager walks up and asks me what the problem is and I'm explaining it... She tells me the same. I explain that I looked up the policy and it says they do price match and ask her to explain why it's not eligible... she said they don't and that isn't their policy at all with a total attitude and won't say more than "no its not.." and "no we dont" over and over again...I'm totally confused at that point and just end up setting it on the counter and leaving after she suggested I order it for pick up and wait outside for it for hours which isn't even possible because it was like almost 5pm at that point so there were no more pick ups for the day. It makes no sense to me. She had the worst attitude about it too and spoke to me like I was an idiot. Wouldn't even come behind the counter to talk to me or explain anything..Acting like I was a moron for suggesting that's their store policy. When I called customer service they told me I was the 3rd person to call saying they wouldn't honor the price match... so is this new or something? Or only certain stores? I don't get it.
