Need help deodorizing silicone cookware
Hi everyone, I need help deodorizing my Crock Pot liners. I wanted to be able to divide the cooker in half and cook rice and beans at the same time. The only dividers I could find were made of silicone. I washed the silicone but it still had a weird smell, kind of like rancid tea, so the first time I used them it absolutely destroyed my food and I had to throw away a whole meal of lentils and rice because of the nasty tasted that transferred. So, last night I soaked the silicone inserts in water and baking soda, but to no avail. I watched really long podcast ( https://youtu.be/jCgzb5y4i0c?si=neDhppUfYfV6V_hZ ), also to no avail, but I finally found an article by the New York Times that said you can bake out the smell. So I tried that as well and now I kind of have a headache because it stunk up the house but the liners still smell like hazardous waste. What else can I try?
