Eggs with no shell?
We inherited a farm, and these are the first chickens we've raised ourselves. This one was very slow yesterday evening and ended up laying a shell less egg. This is concerning because the whole flock always lay before noon, and this evening she's walking very slow, falling asleep on her feet, and freezing in place for about a minute. She still eats and drinks.
We feed them layer feed, lettuce, cantaloupe, and they have a regular supply of clean water, grit, and oystershell. We do let them forage for a few hours a day, and currently we have grass, ivy, and acorns.
I've never encountered this before, though I have limited experience with chickens. What might be causing this?
Camping
After a 3 mile hike we set up camp, I built the fire while my partner put up the tent. As a nocturnal creature I have been watching and tending to the fire. My partner will fetch water by morning and stop for a shower while I take a little time to sleep in in the morning after I watch the sun rise. Overall this is the least toxic situation I have been in, in my entire life.
