Blackbeard’s possible split personality

There’s a bit of argument over Luffy and Zoro’s reference to Blackbeard in Chapter 225. Some people think that the correction of “he” to “they” is just referring to BB’s crew standing nearby, but some translations and fan theories think that BB is, in fact, multiple people in one body. The main credence to this theory is that, somehow, BB takes Whitebeard’s body and grabs a second devil fruit offscreen. Blackbeard’s Jolly Roger (and BB’s design motifs, physically) are also all centered around threes: Three skulls for three personalities, and perhaps (eventually) three Devil Fruits. I wonder, if this theory ends up being true, what the “other two” personalities are. Could the other personalities be recent or ancient? Did BB find something he shouldn’t during his archaeological digs and become possessed? Did he inherit Rocks’ will by literally inheriting Rocks’ personality into his own? Is he harboring a malevolent soul from the Void Century? Are the other personalities the ones that attacked Shanks, and that which betrayed his crew, because they had no personal connection to either? Love to hear what people think.
