Appropriate for semi-formal outdoor/barn wedding & reception?
Hi all! I have a wedding this weekend for a friend of mine and I wanted some opinions on if this is a nice enough dress. I asked her some time ago and she said “it’s on the casual side of the dress code but she guesses it would be ok†and didn’t seem super enthused.
I wore this dress to my college graduation & am planning on wearing black heels like in this picture (not stilettos, more like a block heel?). When I asked her about it, i didn’t show her a picture (it was a verbal conversation and I was driving) so maybe she misremembered it?
I guess I’m wondering if I’m overthinking her response and it actually is fine, or if I need to go and buy a new dress. Thanks!
Festive Cocktail Attire in NOLA
I purchased this dress for a wedding in New Orleans next month. The dress code calls for Festive Cocktail. They are encouraging guests to be creative and have fun with their outfits. The bride and groom are in their late twenties and the groom is a pretty well known DJ.
I thought this was festive and sexy in a sophisticated, grown up way. What do you think?
Looking For Dress Dupes
Posting on behalf of my work mom, she’s not great with technology.
Her daughter is getting married and she’s currently on the hunt for her MoB dress. The dress pictured above is the only one she’s fallen in love with, but it is sold out! I believe this dress was already “approved†by her daughter, so no worries there. Just hoping to make her feel a bit less bummed out by showing her some alternatives
Red cocktail dress for a wedding?
Beginning of November wedding in Nashville. I've heard people express that it's tacky to wear bright red at a wedding, that it looks like you're begging for attention. Which is not what I want at all; I just have this dress from a trip I took recently and didn't get to wear it then. I'm a cousin of the groom, have absolutely nothing to do with the wedding other than attending. I believe the wedding is cocktail attire (and if it's not, I certainly won't be wearing this).
Thoughts?
