Stayed at a 16th century hotel at the weekend on Norfolk Broads
And when I went to leave a review on tripadvisor I encountered a splurge reviews written by entitled dickheads. One complained that they had booked 9 months in advance but it was cancelled by booking.command not the hotel. They had booked it through booking.com! The hotel didn’t offer any alternative accommodation and the poor soul who has a bad back had to drive home and couldn’t have a drink!
Another complained about disability access and no parking for blue badges. Do your bloody homework pal. There is no hotel parking at all, it is on the fecking river but there is a small public car park but funnily enough the public probably park there.. Also a very old building that has no lifts, surely if you have mobility issues then you would do your research?
Then they there were complaints about bitey bugs and insects….ffs you’re on the water, not entirely sure what the hotel can do about this. Apparently also the hotel shouldn’t put its lights on outside as it attracts the bugs.
There were complaints about water leakage (which was going in whilst we were there) problems that aren’t being resolved but when we were talking to one of the staff she said that they have had all kinds of different workmen in trying to find the issue and they so far have been unable to. The latest issue was that they had water dripping through the ceiling behind the bar and have had to disable some electrics and they were waiting for workmen to come back again and have another look.
Oh and apparently it is too hot for some poor souls.
Me? Well, I had a lovely time, yes it was hot, yes there were lots of stairs and a fair amount of insects but I like to think I am not a bellend who thinks everything revolves around her!
