How to removed botched wood filler?

I have a door frame that has some paint chipped out and I thought I would put some wood filler on it before painting. The problem is I didn’t realize this wood filler is a 2 part as the hardening agent wasn’t put away with the other part/lost… Anyways, any tips on removing this so I can apply a less involved wood filler?

What to use this old basketball floor for?? Have a few ideas but need more!! Also have a lot more I could pick up!!!

Thinking about some kind of work bench/table/small tables and a shuffle board setup, original idea was to use it for one of the kids bedroom for a new floor but looking at the logistics of it all it may not be possible 😪. A cool idea was to have a piece made into a memorabilia sports card for my second oldest kid as this is the first floor he played organized basketball on also. All ideas are welcomed!!!!

Outdoor wooden stools - how to keep from checking.

I built a series of stools from some ash rounds for around my fire pit. All of my experiments (the stool samples if you will) checked pretty badly even though the logs were quite dry when I cut them - they had been dead standing for about a year, and then I slowly let them dry further in my shop. I have a couple more ash trees to take down and wanted to make a few more this fall. I’m pretty sure I’ll need to soak them in a wood stabilizer. I’ve had success with pentacryl on some other projects (small coasters made from 4” logs) but I realize i’d need a couple of gallons to soak a few of these stool tops - they are 2” thick and about 12” in diameter. Any advice on what I should treat them with? Also should I plane them to their finished thickness first? When using pentacry or PEG is there a recommended finish (I had used an exterior urethane on these samples, but when they checked moisture got under the finish…)

Made some handmade chopsticks for my girlfriend tonight! I used a jig with a block plane!

How would you go about flattening these? They're going to be used as part of a decorative setting, and the bark has to be intact in the end.

No long jointer bed? No problem!

I have an off hand Delta jointer that runs great, but for one, the outfeed table has a slope of about 1/16" from end to end, and it's only 2' long. I'm making a 5' wide round dining table and it was not going to happen. With a few threaded inserts, leftover melamine and some rod, I now have easily adjustable, removable, and re-usable infeed and out feeds making the entire bed length of just about 6’

Wood crack in support

Hi all It seems kids swingsets aren't made from hardwood like when I was young. This set cost $1k and it's all pine. Anyway a year later it's holding up alright but a large crack has formed in the cross beam. It's there a way to reinforce this and stop the crack? It runs lengthways and is about 10" long Cheers

Designed and built by my 6yo son (with some help from dad)

He needed a bookshelf and mom was gonna go buy one. I thought it would be good for him to build something himself. Spend some time together, build some skills/confidence and maybe feel a little pride when he sees it or had friends over. I’m not a master carpenter so it’s sort of the blind leading the blind here. I ripped and chopped all of this out of a 4 meter sheet of butcher block. It probably would have been enough but but I realized I messed up at one point and sacrificed two of my wall shelves to finish 😂. I did the ripping and chopping, my son did the clamping/gluing/drilling/screwing with guidance. It’s the first woodworking project we’ve done together, and I think all things considered it turned out pretty good. He’s gonna come back and sand off all the pencil marks then probably do a boiled linseed oil finish. I think that’s the easiest finish for a 6yo to apply. Stain and polyurethane can be a bit finicky even for a beginner adult. What have you built with your kids?
